Funeral Director
(Full Time)

Funeral Associate
(Part-time)

The Nie Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service is looking for compassionate individuals to join our team, assisting with visitations, funerals, memorial services, and gatherings on an as-needed basis, including days, evenings, and weekends.

Key Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to perform calmly in dynamic or stressful situations
  • Quick thinking, multi-tasking ability, and resilience
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift or move heavy objects
Responsibilities:
  • Supporting Families & Visitors
  • Assist grieving families and guests with empathy and professionalism
  • Greet and direct visitors, hang coats, and offer assistance as needed
  • Set up chapels for funerals and memorial services (chairs, flowers, casket/urn, memorial tables)
  • Carrying the casket/urn or assisting as an usher
  • Transporting flowers to the hearse or other locations
  • Assisting at cemeteries or crematories
  • Keep restrooms and lounges stocked and orderly
  • Monitor and distribute memorial stationery
  • Arrange and move floral displays as needed
  • Oversee parking lot activities, organize processions, and direct traffic in any weather
  • Assist with general housekeeping during and after services
Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Display empathy, compassion, and professionalism in all interactions
  • Be responsible, dependable, friendly, and positive
  • Work well in a team and adapt to changing needs
  • Have basic computer and mobile device skills (e.g., iPad, sound systems)
  • Be comfortable learning new tools, such as wireless microphones and AV systems
  • Have the physical ability to move furniture and lift/maneuver caskets
  • Possess a valid Michigan driver’s license with an insurable driving record

Facilities Maintenance Technician
(Full or Part Time)

We are looking for a skilled maintenance professional looking for a rewarding position with a compassionate and dedicated team? 

Our multi-location funeral home is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain the pristine appearance and functionality of our properties

A Facilities Maintenance Technician would help with the following duties:

• Lawn Maintenance & Landscaping: Ensure our grounds are always well-kept, including mowing, trimming, and seasonal care.
• Snow Removal: Keep our locations safe and accessible during the winter months by managing snow and ice removal.
• Drywall Repair & Painting: Perform minor repairs and touch-ups to maintain the interior of our facilities to a high standard.
• Cleaning: Assist with general cleaning duties to keep all areas clean, sanitized, and welcoming.
• Light Plumbing & Electrical Work: Handle minor plumbing and electrical repairs to keep our facilities operating smoothly.
• Overall Maintenance: Address various maintenance needs across all locations, ensuring everything is in top condition.

A Facilities Maintenance Technician must posses:
• Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role.
• Proficiency in lawn care, snow removal, drywall repair, painting, and light plumbing/electrical work.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and respectful environment.
• Possess a valid Michigan driver’s license and an insurable driving record
